The past few weeks at Canterbury Creek Farm Preschool have been filled with excitement, learning, and generosity. We’ve had a wonderful start to the school year, and we’re eager to share some of the highlights from late fall on the farm!

A Special Visit from Jack the Nigerian Dwarf Goat

One of the fun highlights of the past few weeks was the arrival of Jack, a male Nigerian Dwarf goat. Jack has been visiting our female goats in the hopes of welcoming some baby goats (kids) in the spring. The children have loved observing Jack’s visit, even though he is very stinky! It’s a great opportunity for them to connect with nature and gain a deeper understanding of farm life.

Annual Charity Drive: Partnering with Santa Claus Girls

Our school community is incredibly generous, and we’ve been so proud to witness the kindness and spirit of giving during our annual charity drive. This year, we partnered once again with the Santa Claus Girls charity to collect donations for local children and families in need. The Santa Claus Girls is an amazing charity that provides holiday gifts and necessities to families across the community, and we were thrilled to support their efforts. Thanks to the generosity of our families, we filled up an entire trailer with donations! It’s always a heartwarming experience to see the school come together to help others in our community.

Thanksgiving Feast and Hands-On Learning

As we moved into November, our Thanksgiving celebration brought even more fun and learning to the farm. During our feast, the children had the opportunity to make corn muffins and butter from scratch, learning about how food is made and the importance of these traditions. It was a great way to connect with the holiday spirit while teaching the children valuable lessons about cooking, sharing, and community. The children loved working together , and the delicious results were a treat for everyone!

Looking Forward to More Adventures

As the year continues, we are excited for more learning opportunities, farm activities, and special events. The next few months will bring even more chances for our students to explore the farm, learn about animals, and engage with their community. We are so grateful for the vibrant and supportive families that make our school such a special place.
